    Even as a meme, this probably isn’t the best thing to be saying. Stalin didn’t really kill people, or at least, he didn’t really directly order, nor did many of his policies result in deaths. He did order a few deaths, but the bulk of them were during the great patriotic war, and at that, it was primarily cowards and ineffectual wartime leaders whom got their soldiers killed. After the great patriotic war though, deaths at the hands of the government drastically dropped with Trotsky being the only notable instance of a state-mandated assassination.

    So yes, it’s a fun joke. But it’s not accurate, and we shouldn’t open the possibility of misleading anti-communists with this kind of thing. It’s bad enough that they already think we’re okay with mass murder (which has empirically been proven wrong), but we shouldn’t be giving the impression that we celebrate it too.
