I live in the US and love hiking and camping, so me + partner have done a ton of reallly long car trips in order to get even somewhat close to some of them. A lot of them we just can’t do because of the high cost of airplane tickets, or the commute-time with long car trips.

China has as varied a landscape as the US, and to be able to do hiking trips, getting most of the way there via high-speed rail, is exciting. There are soo many pretty towns and places to visit, that it’d probably take years to even scrape the surface Big ups to the priority the PRC has placed on HSR, the safest and best way to travel.

Yeah, I’m in Canada and it’s the same thing. I do some nature photography, and getting anywhere means having to drive. I dream of living in China and just being able to take trains places.
