Just watched that episode for the first time yesterday. It was glorious and I seriously love Rom now

You ever seen the episode duet? No other show or movie in existence has dealt with the concept of colonialist guilt in such a powerful way.

I once thought about if I wanted to live somewhere in the Star Trek Universe, it would be DS9.

It’s a tough choice between TNG and DS9, but I’d feel better under Sisko than Picard.

It really feels like a good future, not a utopia but still a better future for almost everyone on Earth and other species. Like while the Federation has its flaws (Prime Directive, Section 31, etc) it still feels like the benefits of technology, good ideology have come full circle.

Once we get some more trek comrades on here, I’d love to see a debate on Section 31… both in how its portrayed, and whether its existence at all is justified, and how it affects the moral standing of the federation and their claims to be a socialist society.
