I don’t know and it doesn’t matter. Either way the claim that they do is just an attempt by the usual imperialist psy op manufacturers and disseminators of anti-Russian propaganda to somehow try to blame Russia for the instability in order to tarnish their image in Africa where the West is losing ground because of Russian diplomacy and Wagner being able to militarily stabilize regions that the imperialists have destabilized using terrorist groups and purposely kept in chaos to justify their own military presence there.

The RSF and the ruling military junta of Sudan were previously allied and had worked together to oust the previous president. So it is not inconceivable that Russia had some kind of ties to both of them at one point. But as it stands it is the government faction that appears to have closer ties to Russia while the RSF is closer to the US. The RSF have basically openly admitted to co-ordinating with the US state department, and the US is helping the RSF in spreading the narrative that the clashes are about “democracy”.

The reality is that this is a conflict between two military factions, both of which are not very palatable, both have historically had close ties to the US, are pro “Israel”, and have done the bidding of the IMF. The one in power just happened to make the “mistake” of approving the building of a Russian naval base.

As for which you should “support”, i don’t even know what that means. Unless you live in Sudan or have some influence over the US state department’s policies your “support” will have zero impact on the conflict. So go ahead and “support” whichever one you want. What’s more important is spreading awareness about the fact that this is yet another needless and deadly conflict instigated by US meddling due to their insecurity over losing their global hegmony.

Whichever one wins the working class loses, but it would probably be marginally better for the stability of the country if the regime change operation did not succeed and the government managed to quickly restore order to avoid a full blown civil war.

‘‘Support’’, like supporting Russia in Ukraine, supporting Palestine, supporting Houthis in Yemen, supporting China in liberating Formosa island, supporting Iran etc.
