To justify its decision the Biden administration even ‘leaked’ an intelligence assessment which warned of allowing such:

Intelligence agencies concluded that granting Ukraine’s request to use Western missiles against targets deep in Russia could prompt forceful retaliation while not fundamentally changing the course of the war.

Reality asserts itself like a brick to the face. lmao

The wunderwaffen discourse in liberal media has been so tedious. Russia has had this deep strike capability since the start, and however painful, it demonstrably is not enough to buckle a country and magically end the war. So why the fuck would it work the other way around you brainless dipshits?!

Tbf Russia only aimed at military installations and only escalated towards infrastructure after one year of fighting when Ukraine started doing terror attacks. Liberal media assumes Ukraine would use deep strikes as is western military doctrine - killing as many civilians as possible.

So, even less effectively from a military standpoint. This shit has never worked - not in ww2, not in Korea, or Cambodia, nor in Vietnam. Fucking fascists are born losers

It may be ineffective from military standpoint but it’s very effective at catering to the liberals need to see innocent civilians die horribly and for no reason.

To be fair, I think his main goal was to show that he personally still has support from the US. This gives him an upper hand in the palace intrigue that’s going on in Ukraine right now. Ultimately, he just wants some breathing room to plan his escape when the whole thing collapses.

You think he ever stops and wonders how he went from his pre-election reconciliation with Russia platform to planning his exile so he doesn’t get murdered by angry neo-nazis?

There is a clip where he goes to visit troops after getting elected, and one of the fascists just laughs at him when he says he’s the president and the army has to do what he says. So, I think it was made clear to him who was actually running things right from the start. It’s possible that he genuinely believed his platform before the election, but given who his backers were it should’ve been obvious that they had no interest in any sort of reconciliation.

Do you have the clip by chance? Or better still, is there a cache of all the videos, articles and posts of Ukraine being a “totally normal democracy”? I remember there was a giant shareable document breaking down and debunking the Uyghur genocide myth a few years ago.

I tried to find it, but forget what to look for and now most search results give you stuff after the war. I remember it was him standing in the field somewhere talking to a guy in uniform, saying how he’s the president and they have to do what he says. But I completely forget what the context for the whole thing was or even the year it happened.

I mean just look at average Ukraine thread on .ml World News. It’s not even reddit, it’s not FBi-run nazi circlejerk, libs there has been exposed to truth regularily for all that time, and they still regurgitate banderite versions uncritically.

This is the real genius of the way the west manipulates people in my opinion. Western approach focuses on ensuring that the mainstream narrative aligns with the interests of the oligarchs, with some dissenting voices being allowed at the fringes. Majority of people want to fit in, so they naturally adopt the views of people around them. Meanwhile, contrarian views being allowed on the fringes makes it possible for people to say there’s no censorship, these views just aren’t popular because they’re nonsensical conspiracy theories, and so on. Thus, the very existence of alternative views further reinforces the belief in the mainstream narrative for the majority.

I do think there is a caveat to this though, which is that when the narrative strays too far from the material reality people experience then it starts running into problems. Hence why we’re now starting to see increasing numbers of people falling out of the mainstream.

Incidentally, I thought this was an interesting interview where they point out the growing problems with the Ukrainian narrative and how Europe is now doubling down on censorship because the reality has diverged too far. https://youtu.be/HWvynzLu9yI

I agree. When the Russian intervention began and Western media did a huge crackdown on the truth, the only people I saw allowed to tell the Russian side on mainstream were MAGA crackpots who looked crazy doing it. Can’t say there’s no censorship, because the narrative is allowed on mainstream media, but presented from the side progressives hate and distrust the most. It’s an insidious kind of manipulation.

Oh, absolutely. In February-March 2022 the only “allowed” voices critical of the US empire and its actions were absolute chuds or nutjobs like Russell Brand. I remember those in liberal places used to gang up on folks who were skeptical of the narrative BECAUSE they quoted Brand, of all people. Even a lot of well-meaning people fell into that trap.
