I guess mentioning Japans awful history that they refuse to acknowledge went from “whataboutism” to “hateful”

Antisocialists playing down the severity of the Empire of Japan’s atrocities to make the P.R.C. look worse is, in effect, no different from when they play down the Third Reich’s atrocities to make the U.S.S.R. look worse. Factoids like ‘Stalin/Mao killed more people/communists than Hitler/Hirohito’ makes the Axis’s atrocities in the East look trivial and redundant, and the implication is that the Eastern world would have been better off under Axis domination and that neofascists should be at least tolerated (if not outright supported).

Also, that paper by Chinese gusano Endo Homare is just lousy. The little sourcing there is very informal, it repeatedly begs the question with assertions like the CPC did nothing to deter the Imperialists whereas the KMT did everything, and conveniently overlooks the KMT’s atrocities, including pardoning and recruiting Axis war criminals. I know that my reply doesn’t address everything in her piece, but I honestly don’t have the patience for that right now. Read Was Mao Really a Monster?, which already refutes many of her assertions.

Oh wow, it’s like the leaders of Japan are bourgeois comprador puppets of the west or something.

    …bring up WW2 against the Japanese community…

No need. Japanese politicians are doing a fine job allying themselves with modern nazis.

    Well…actually, they just never stopped.
