Few days ago I attended a rally organized by PSL, almost all of present organization were Trotskyists. A jerk had me talk for five minutes about shit in Hong Kong representing the interests of the working class.Fuck! I question does the United States really have a officially active Communist Party? (CPUSA is not active in this area.)

Yeah, really odd - PSL states they’re MLs and their national articles and media have defended Stalin, China, DPRK, etc. Perhaps some sort of ideological holdover from when they split with that other Trot party?

Having done a bit of PSL training, they are anti-imperialist, feminist, Marxist-Leninist, no doubt. First thing they had us read was Left-Wing Communism, an Infantile Disorder.

I would wager the trotskyists were not actually affiliated with PSL but were wreckers who either staunchly disagreed with the party program or were deliberately pretending to represent them, though I think the former is more likely. You will not come out of the training a Trotskyist, and if you do, you’d probably ought to start looking for a different org.

Yeah, I wanna reiterate what has already been said, in my experience with the PSL they are absolutely not Trots. They get accused of being “Stalinists” by the soc dems and “Dengists” by the ultras. Obviously I can’t speak for every single individual in the org, but the org itself is firmly based in ML.

That being said, PSL also does not claim to be THE vanguard party that will bring about revolution, but rather a pre-party organization that will lay the groundwork and train the cadre for an eventual vanguard party. So, the question of “is there a real communist party in the US” is a bit of a flawed approach because the answer is ultimately no, but because the conditions aren’t right yet. There’s more nuance to it than what I’m saying here, but just wanted to touch on that subject.

Learn what you can about running an organization, maybe convert a few people along the way, then create your own organization.

@Tankeke, If you are interested the website may be hard to find, so here it is: https://www.partyofcommunistsusa.net/contact-join/ At the moment not living near comrades should not be a problem, and most of it is online, with the weekly party school and commissions, but they’re also involved with actions like Rage Against the War Machine and international solidarity missions. We are trying to build membership so it’d be nice for you to join comrade.

FRSO and WWP are pretty good. WWP is slightly Trotskyist-leaninf but they still support AES. APSP is a communist black nationalist party.
