I got the collagen in the mail today and tried it out after a workout. I’m excited to be sharing this with all of you!

I’ll be taking the supplement daily for a month and will report back at the end of it. I’m writing daily notes and I’ll make a synthesis here. We’ll get to the bottom of this lol.

So far: dissolves well in water, peptides are easier to digest than pure collagen so I recommend that. Four hours since I drank my shake and I’m feeling very sleepy, muscularly speaking. Like I could take the best nap of my life if I went to sleep right now.

Collagen contains a ton of glycine (it’s like 33% glycine) which apparently helps regulate sleep. I drank it after my workout but it was not as intense as usual, so I shouldn’t be that tired. I’ll be keeping an eye on this in the coming days, especially as I naturally sleep late.

What to expect: if taken daily: better hair, skin, nails, and more importantly: joints and tendons! The aforementioned glycine also helps muscle recovery and should work like whey in that regard. Muscles also need collagen for their fibres so there should be improvement there. We’ll see.

My sibling also started collagen today so I can use them as a control group lol.

Good luck. I’ll pray that your hair comes out shinier, your nails stronger, and your skin smoother at the end of this.

I’m particularly interested in the recovery aspects. If it can help create muscle mass, then it’s a viable replacement for whey (still not vegan or vegetarian friendly though).

Studies show that the glycine in collagen helps muscle growth, but I’m not aware of many studies being conducted so take it with a grain of salt. Some weightlifters swear only by collagen and have opted not to use anything else.
