"The Code promotes equal distribution of domestic responsibilities amongst men and women and extends labor rights to those who care full-time for children, the elderly, or people with disabilities. The code establishes the right to a family life free from violence, one that values love, affection, solidarity and responsibility. It codifies domestic violence penalties, and promotes comprehensive policies to address gender-based violence.
The Code also outlaws child marriage and corporal punishment, stating that parents will have “responsibility” instead of “custody” of children, and will be required to be “respectful of the dignity and physical and mental integrity of children and adolescents.” It also asserts that parents should grant maturing offspring more say over their lives."
The code also includes how surrogacy can only be done ‘altruistically’ for no payment in cash or goods. This is very different from the usa’s for profit adoption system. In Cuba this is possible because the state provides pregnancy care and care to families of all kinds. This is the only way to possibly open the door to ‘altruistic surrogacy’. For profit surrogacy has been a pox on women another way they can trade their life force for cash.

I was reading Rosa Luxembourg’s Reform or Revolution earlier today and I was interested by the fact that she was not taken seriously at first by German Socialists because she was young and a woman, but over time she proved her knowledge and would even mock the shitty ad hominem insults that misogynists would launch at her, saying “well since this shoddy argument is the best they can put up against me, I suppose they have no reasonable criticisms of my point” And she’d move on , while others laughed at the dude that just got shut-down and took an L. I thought it was a pretty fitting little excerpt for International Women’s Day
It feels to me to be ironically empowering to see oppressed women using the weapons of fascist empires against its creators. This applies both to the American AR-10 and German MP-40.
Though it really does make you wonder how that German gun found it’s way to South Africa.
