          Dinner: racist

          Western imperialist interventions: woke

I read the content of the article and even if it’s legitimate, this is burying the lead of what the west does and really cares about.

Fair enough, although I would argue that it’s at the very least informative or interesting to learn about the way colonialism and racist power structures have influenced our day-to-day living, and not precisely un-important to think about. I eat “disordered” meals, yet I am steadily losing weight and getting stronger. A subconscious desire to improve my life has got me thinking about the “three-meals-a-day” idea and how it is supposed to indicate a structured and better life, yet like I said, I’m getting healthier eating the way I am. Learning that the history behind the idea, at least the specific Amerikan and settler histories, is steeped in colonial and racist ideas helps me better identify its being as entirely nonsense. I think pointing out the histories of stupid shit Amerikans do, even relatively unimportant shit, is important in elucidating the Amerikan state’s foundation as being unscientific and, well, racist.

Oh yeah, for the record I didn’t downvote you as you actually read the article and didn’t say anything wrong. I don’t disagree with the article and it’s always good to learn about the origin of things and take good points from everything.

My only problem with Mother Jones is them telling small truths like this to cover for other big BS.

Pretty cringe opener, but pretty good and informative article imo. The racism comes into play when analyzing the three-course settler diet contrasted with indigenous Amerikans’ generally less rigid eating schedule, which settlers said existed because of natives being closer to animals than people.

Anti-science? Like the part where people with some medical issues need to eat the the regular intervals?
