Mao Zedong Thought is the ideology of The Jade Chairman. This Ideology teaches us how to gain good governance and ensure prosperity for the masses. Those who are not educated on how to achieve good governance will forever be stuck with bad governors who are like abusive robber barons to the entire society. They do not fulfill their duties or promises, place restrictions on what the masses can or cannot do, and take all of their money.

Before we apply Mao Zedong Thought, we must first know dialectical materialism. If we are too rigid and attempt to implement policies from the 1900’s without considering the conditions of our country, we become too bolshevik. If we become too accepting of the current situation we become conservative. Dialectical materialism is our guide to all political decisions and would help decisions of our personal lives as well. When we free ourselves of idealism, we allow ourselves to make decisions based on the present reality in front of us.

The basis of socialism is that modern society is a class society. Class society is based on those who own the property and accumulate wealth, who are known as the bourgeoisie. The proletariat are the class of citizenry who are forced to work for the bourgeoisie. In this way we understand that the relationship between these two is inherently exploitative, and any person who wants to improve conditions for their social class does so at the expense of the other class. The goal of socialism is to put the proletarian class in charge of the state to prevent the bourgeois parasites from ever gaining control. When we see the ideology this way, it becomes obvious why it is so demonized by bourgeois dictatorships.

We must also apply Mao Zedong thought in its entirety and not fall into the trap of revisionism. This means that we should not alter or deliberately misinterpret the chairman’s ideas out of personal convenience or other desires. We must also defend our ideology from revisionism due to intentional distortion by class enemies. Very bad people sabotage revolutionary movements not only through violence against those leading them, but also by hijacking the ideology or sabotaging the revolutionary party through confusion of proletarian values and proletarian ideology.

But if I study Mao Zedong Thought, will I no longer have to study Marxism-Leninism? Since it seems like MZT is just Mao Zedong’s very own version/interpretation of Marxism-Leninism. (I think there was even a quote somewhere by Chairman Mao himself stating that “Maoism” is just his version of Marxism-Leninism)

…or are you talking about learning Marxism-Leninism-Maoism?

MZT is Marxism-Leninism applied to the conditions faced in China at the time. MLM is entirely different and essentially takes this theory and universalises it, claiming that Mao’s writings (who considered himself ML and didn’t claim to write for anything other than China) can be applied to all situations everywhere and thus form the direct, “improved” continuation of MLism.

MZT might not be applicable as is to many other places in the world today, but Mao’s writings and theories were regardless very influential and important and should be studied as part of a complete ML formation.

A Marxist that says that people don’t need to read? HERESY!!! /s

Mao Zedong wrote an article called “reject book worship” about clinging to ideas instead of investigating their local conditions where they are among the workers and peasants.

Charming Owl seems like an interesting crossover of the New age religion and Marxism. They speak in a spiritual language rather than a materialist language. For those that need to hear the message in a language they understand it is not wrong to convey our ideas. However the lack of specifics can make breaking down the specifics of theory counterproductive.

This post might make sense if they live in a place where a functional left is. If they are in the “west”, they need to build something before they consider the spiritual implications. They can’t understand the dialectical relationship without direct experience to push back on where they are wrong.

I am not advocating Maoism because that ideology has its own set of issues. What I want is for people to learn the mindset of a revolutionary Third-Worldist communist. I don’t think people should skip the basic theory before getting into MZT thought but they must view socialism as a flexible ideology meant to exist in reality and not as a rigid set of policies from a foreign country.
