The West once saw Russia as a country on the path to democracy. Now it regards it as an international pariah and a failed state.

    Thank

    fucking

    God.

I would be much more worried if my country was chummy with an international equivalent of gang rapists.

In less than a year, Putin and his team have managed to discredit everything Russian, even Russian culture

No, I’m pretty sure that was russophobic westoid smear campaign. Also, only the “golden billion” buys into it, but keep coping.

Even if you disagree with Putin’s actions, how the hell do they “discredit Russian culture?” Are liberals really so pea-brained and hyperfocused on whatever the current media narrative is that they can’t look at a copy of The Brothers Karamazov without thinking “him Russian, Russia bad?”

EDIT: dude says his grandmother was arrested by Stalin. Somehow it always comes back to more gusano shit.

Do you really have to ask?) Although, I think they’re so pea-brained that the only answer they could come up with to Putin’s unity of history narrative is russophobia in case of our brand of libshits. Genious. Gonna win the people over in no time.

dude says his grandmother was arrested by Stalin. Somehow it always comes back to more gusano shit.

Grandfather, but whatever. And it’s always nebulous “on political grounds” with them, or better yet “for a political joke”. Meanwhile in insertrelativename’s criminal case: theft of government property/murder/subversive activities.

P.S. Gotta say, I harbor a special kind of hatred for slavish servants of western imperialism like this shitstain Kolesnikov who aren’t even from the core countries. It’s some serious brainrot.

How Russians Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the War

Me use pop culture reference to explain current events. Me very smart. Putin Owned.

I love all the insinuations that there is a lot of quiet dissent in Russia without ever substantiating this claim. The mask fell off when the hysteria in the west started and everybody saw what the west really thinks of Russians. Everybody with a functioning brain in Russia understands why this war happened and why Russia must prevail in it.

I’d argue there’s plenty of quiet dissent in Russia, but not for the reasons the author implies. It’s mostly stuff like infrastructure and corruption that gets people frustrated. Ya know, just like every other capitalist country

The kind of dissent you actually want where people demand better conditions. Hopefully, it’s the kind that moves Russia back towards communism one day.

Let me guess, this is about how all Russians are evil and everything nazis want to do to them is justified?

The article basically says that Putin is an evil red emperor, a totalitarian dictator with full control over all sources of information (but then it is said that not over all, because he fears wrath of people if he block YouTube lmao), that he brainwashed or intimidated all citizens (but not all because many escaped from totalitarian Mordor), brutally imprisoned 378 people, blocked 200 thousand sites, etc. Of course, richly flavored with untruth: for example that you need VPN to reach any alternative information.

In short, a typical liberal article

Jesus Christ, I wish he had control of his state media at least…

If by “alternative information” they mean ukrainian “news” resources and social media that was banned from Russia for allowing calls for killing Russians, like the Instagarbagedump.

Probably the usual shit - Meduza, Novaya Gazeta, Dozhd (although those gits apparently got in hot water themselves). The former two are getting posted to Lemmy, however

“Russian” libschitzos are way ahead of you. I remember Shulman spreading bullshit about one of the generals being executed with a machine gun or some shit. Naturally, the guy appeared on photos the day after. I’ll try to find it.

Well, the DPRK is supportive of Russia after all. Makes sense for Juche Necromancers being active there.

I read it, and I have to say I was astonished at the sheer vileness on display. The whole article is quite literally the “subhuman Asiatic hordes” trope dressed up – just barely – in politically-correct language. There’s anti-German propaganda from the second world war that is more restrained than this.

Read it only if you need convincing that that the west cannot be reasoned with. These people are insane.
