    Doesn’t Russia have its own video hosting platforms? If not, then they can switch to billibilli and deepen their ties with China even more.

      Yes, but they’re less popular and somewhat junk from what I heard

            They could just add support for Russian is what I’m saying. It seems very doable considering they have several non-Chinese languages already.

              If they haven’t then it’s likely not a priority. How big is the market, really? Compared to South Asia?

                In the scenario where YouTube gets banned, then the market is the whole of Russia. That would be plenty of incentive to add support I’d imagine

      The reason why China has a very advanced social media platform like WeChat that the Western European dispora is desperately attempting to copy is because China engage in protectionism against usage of foreign software from America and Western Europeans. It is like the Western European and Western European emigrant countries who become developed through protectionism and they maintain their current development through protectionist policies for industries that developing countries specialized in.
