They elected a moderate socdem who immediately turned on all leftist groups that supported him and went all neoliberal austerity. His electoral opponent whom he marginally defeated was the son of a literal Nazi from the Hitler era and big fan of the Pinochet dictatorship who basically made it his campaign promise to undo women’s rights and commit indigenous genocide.
