What the hell is this “banned the orthodox church” nonsense? I hear it few times already, but UA media is still full of orthodox shit and OC is one of the legs of fascism in Ukraine.

In reality, there was a schism in the Orthodox Church in Ukraine in 2019, where the local fashy church was granted autocephaly (orthodox church independence) from the Moscow patriarchy by the Constantinople patriarchy. Iirc things like autocephaly must be agreed upon on OC council, so this was illegal and Moscow partiarchy was mighty pissed and broke off contacts with the Constantinople one.
Probably 10-15% of parishes in Ukraine refused to join the UA orthofash and remained under Moscow and after war started UA cracked on those, including arrest of 33 priests by SBU and taking over the property.
It’s but a XVI century style schism and state-church takeover. In reality, UA church is being tied to the state stronger than ever, so they can even wrote such witchery nonsense and not be cursed (iirc moscow patriarch Kirill cursed them already).
