First fitness thread of 2023 comrades. Sorry for the late post, it was a rough day. How have you been this week? Anything anyone feels like sharing?

Personally I haven’t done too much as I’m still letting my back heal. Been doing lots of stretches and using my inversion table and my back is starting to feel a lot better. Might even see if I can lift a little Sunday just to test the waters.

That’s some good progress. Hopefully you’ll feel fully healed in no time.

I’ve been thinking of pushing myself to be more active again because I shouldn’t be this unfit at my age. I used to be very fit until high school because I stopped doing sports around that time and it’s been downhill since then.

Getting winded from the most minor activity feels like shit :/ The only thing that doesn’t fuck me up at this point is walking.

Sorry for the rant, this is an issue that’s been bothering me for years lol.

Never too late to start trying to improve yourself comrade. Took me till my late 20s before I finally got serious with it.

I’m bouncing back strong after a brief period of being in a rut for a few weeks (largely due to disrupted sleep and diet).

Both of my bodyweight workouts in the park were great, and my pushup form is better than ever and the movement is smooth as butter, and my bridges are deep and strong for all the reps in the set. I’m also managing to get good lat activation on my pulls which is a big one for me as historically I’ve relied on arm strength for that and it gave me all sorts of imbalances from the shoulder pain. Ever since shifting to a wide-grip pull-up my shoulder pain has been melting away.

My runs are still lagging behind my peak, during 2020 and 2021, but I did a good 4km and 7.5km run on Sunday and Wednesday respectively (the days following my strength workouts). Looking forward to tomorrow’s run, but I’ve spent all day decorating after a workout so likely it’ll be slow. Still good to get out though.

Hope your back is healing up ok comrade.

Had to take a break this week, I was kinda thrown off by my partner being home, plus had some stomach issues that weren’t fun. Gonna get back into it on Monday
