Zahedan, IRNA – Police Chief of Sistan and Baluchestan province Brigadier General Mohammad Ghanbari said on Wednesday that the terrorist team that was dismantled in Zahedan last night was directly linked to the enemies residing abroad.

Brigadier General Ghanbari said that members of the terrorist team have had a number of armed attacks in recent weeks aimed at assassinating police personnel on police patrols, and afterward they tried to publish their illegal attempts on foreign media outlets.

All members of this six-member gang, plus three people who cooperated with them, were arrested last night after conducting intelligence work with a complicated operation, he underlined.

According to the confessions, the terrorists still had plans to attack police patrols, he further noted.

He went on to say that police confiscated some weapons and ammunition, including pistols and Kalashnikov rifles, as well as six vehicles that were conducting their operations, with these vehicles discovered and following the investigation, it was determined that the vehicles were stolen.
