I’m on my friend’s back/ bi - legs - chest tri - rest - repeat cycle. I don’t mind it all that much since I haven’t been going to the gym as of recently (work 🤮). I’m eating like 2 - 4 hotdogs a day plus a protein shake to somewhat meet my protein needs, but tbh, hotdogs prooooobably aren’t the cleanest source of protein. Today, I’m gonna hit back/ bi later :)!

I wish I was listening to something besides the shitty gym soundtracks. I left my earphones at work, but I wanna quit, so I have to go into work to get them first 🥴.

I have been listening to Proles of the round table podcast recently. I’ve learned a lot from them. Their interview with Grover Furr ended up causing me to go order some of his books.

Getting in protein can be a pain. I do a good amount free range eggs, beans, peanut/peanut butter, cottage cheese, and plain Greek yogurt. There this protein bread I get from Aldi’s that’s 10g protein per slice and it fucking rules. Has like nuts and grains and whole wheat. I can’t eat regular bread anymore cause it’s just better. I also do some pea protein powder but it’s tough to get to mix with liquids and not be grainy. Better added to recipes that make actual food stuffs out of it imo.

I haven’t had a strong routine this month. Started of sick in the first week and didn’t work out. Got better in the second week so I did some workouts but I got sick again at the end of the week. So then I didn’t go for a couple of days. Got better again and have since done 2 workouts maybe. I’m also enjoying a drink or two here and there. Keep eating healthy tho.

So it’s not a month of gains for me unfortunately. I also had 14 assignments due this month for school, combining it with party work and a 4 day a week job became a bit too much really. I hope I can pick it up next month.

Been using dance as a way to get my cardio up, I wanna eventually add bodyweight exercises to my workouts. I’ve been kinda sedentary for the past year and a half due to poor living conditions so I’m trying to get back to a good spot. I have settled into a routine of working out every other day (MWF) and then resting on the weekend.

If anyone wants the playlist I have it here, it’s mostly house/techno, it’s about 21 minutes long so good for just starting out or warming up.

I slightly injured my lower back while squatting because I didn’t warm up properly. It’s feeling a bit better now but it’s a drag. Learn from my mistake comrades, a gram of prevention is worth a kilogram of cure.

My warm-ups on lower body workouts sometimes are longer than the actual workout. Biggest muscles on the body, they have to be respected

Right? My warm up is 15 minute, 1mile walk. Then at least 30-45 minutes of stretches and exercises to wake the muscles up. Then my lifts take only a couple minutes for east set.

Stretch stretch stretch. My physical therapist gave me a bunch of lower back and leg stretches to do every day and as long as I always do them after a little 10 minutes warm up walk or something I feel so much better and haven’t hurt myself again. I do them before the workout.

You’re absolutely right. I’m gonna make this adjustment. A proper warmup is key.

This has been a tough week for me for the gym, I’ve just been absolutely exhausted by work and also drowning in studying a bit. Next week is gonna be kinda fucked too cause I’ve got quite a bit of drinking planned. January however I’m gonna take a renewed crack at it.

My main thing right now is I need more energy. Gotta cut out caffeine and nicotine and hopefully improve my sleep quality.

Sometimes life just doesn’t allow for it. Gotta just pick it up when you can. I have had a really good 3 week run but just last night I had a really rough night sleep wise and it kind of stressed me out cause I’m hoping it doesn’t break my momentum.

I’m honestly kind of glad you made this comment cause it kind of helped me remind myself that speed bumps happen and you gotta just slow up, roll over them, and keep moving.
