Killed a turkey with a 20 gauge when I was 14. We ate it. Dad’s a big hunter.

Out of being bi, a communist, and an atheist, the most upsetting aspect of my growth to him is that I wound up a vegetarian lol. Rabbit food.

Otherwise I’ve shot a few different rifles and shotguns, and a handgun once. I’m a damn good shot even though I’m functionally blind in one eye and have shaky hands. Something about being behind that scope, knowing the awful power behind what I wield - it’s stabilizing, grounding. There are no reparable fuck-ups with guns. Best be zen when you shoot em.

.22, .30-06, 7.62 a couple times. I rather enjoy it, myself; I can’t get enough of the smell of gunpowder.

Where I live, they won’t give guns to somebody who attempted suicide.

Are you able to visit a range and shoot someone else’s guns?

I’ve never tried, but I have a feeling that the answer is ‘no’.

If it’s something you want to do, there’s a lot you can learn about firearms without ever holding one, if you ever want to be able to use them. Maybe there’s a way somehow?

Yep. .22 target practice and killed a deer with a .243 when I was like 10. Since then, nope

    Shotgun, .22, AR-15, a few 9mm and .45 handguns. I am not a fan of handguns.

I have, mostly in my high school years. Learned to shoot and went hunting with my dad for a few years. I find shooting, especially longer distance, really relaxing and rewarding.
