This is the difference between tactics and strategy. Che was an accomplished fighter and leader, but he took the wrong lesson from the massive W of the Cuban Revolution. He applied the guerilla foco theory dogmatically (out of personal desire to fight for the revolution), rather than adapting the strategy to the conditions he faced.
