So according to this game the DPRK has its inequality at Extreme (8.6)

To put this into perspective, USA is High (4.2), Ukraine is Low (2.6) and South Korea is Moderate (3.1)

Israel occupies all of Palestine, all North Koreans want to submit to the aliens for some reason (the game’s setting is that aliens come to earth and you can take different approaches), this game is anti-communist propaganda made into a game.

Also this is how the game explains GDP per Capita:

pic:terra invicta gdp per capita explanation

I’m not gonna pretend that I understand economics, but I mean USA has a very high GDP per Capita and the economic conditions of the average citizen are horrible, I mean as far as I know there is a ton of people there living with homelessness breathing on their necks, right?

I pirated the game and I still feel scammed smh my head

It look like the whole research devs made is toward spacecraft engine, while the rest of the game, especially geopolitics, pretty much take the first paragraph of wikipedia article and called it a day, which result in something really lib-take like “Government” score, or how “democracy” a country is on a linear scale of 0 to 10. Predictably, China is “Totalitarian”, while certain nations in the west well known for taking political prisoner is merely “flawed” democracy. Also, research output somehow scale with “democracy”.

The game also encourage western-style colonialism, as sucking wealth off developing country is more effective than actually develop their welfare and economy unless you really wanted to wait 30 years for it to pay off.

It’s clear the game is made with westerner idea of geopolitics in mind.

Oh, well, at least it has a few accidental based moment. (This is the quote for applies AI global tech)

Precisely why I did not buy it, despite the cool idea.

I wouldn’t recommending this game based on technical reasons to begin with. It is cool for what it is, but it’s clearly shown that the devs are game modders with limited experience with actual game development. As such, optimisation is…non existent.

Hell, someone have to made a github version of in-game tech tree so that you wouldn’t need to spent 10 seconds waiting for it to load.

Lul, there’s the RoC “liberating” the mainland, but not the PRC unifying China for good. All all decolonialization stuff leaves out breaking up the USA and Canada.

PRC already have a claim on the rogue state at the start of the game. Therefore, they can reunify China far earlier than RoC “liberating” mainland.

Hell, that’s pretty much one of the first thing I did after managed to acquire mainland China.

They are projects for disintegrating US, though, but I won’t blame you for missing it. You probably see how messy the tech tree is.

It looks almost as if PragerU decided to make a cheap knock-off of a Paradox game.

You don’t need to understand economics, just GDP. And that is the weirdest claim I’ve seen made about GDP lol.

GDP is simply the gross sum of everything that was “produced” in a country (based on its sales price). If you sell a country club membership you just upped GDP by 10k this year. It doesn’t indicate where the money goes. GDP per capita is helpful to give a sense of scale, because we expect that countries with higher population will have a higher gross GDP.

We like to shit on Paradox (me too) but there’s a reason they still make the best geopolitics simulators on the planet.

it absolutely does not take anything like healthcare education, life expectancy, infant mortality, into account in fact the best thing for GDP per capita is to have everyone in the country become a slave to one guy. It’s not even a very good measurement of the economy either as any western propagandists will eagerly tell you if china or even Russia has a better GDP anything than anyone in the west.

I’ll give an example: two people have a billion dollars, one of them puts most in the bank and lives very modestly, the other immediately goes out and buys luxury cars, mansions, jewlery etc. According to the GDP the guy saving his money is much worse off, while the guy burning through his fortune as fast as possible has the highest GDP imaginable. It doesn’t always work like that, but it just shows how GDP is not really good for anything. Other than convincing poor white people that rich white people spending lots of money while they wallow in poverty is actually good for them
