The failure of the German revolution was notoriously dire for the Soviets, resulting in a siege socialism that made the revolution vulnerable to the rightwing takeover
I’d go as far as to say it has opened the door for the Nazis and the destruction they had wrought upon the USSR and Europe in general. Plus the subsequent infiltration of western Europe by USian agencies and their ongoing war against any sort of socialist movement.
