I haven’t heard much in regards to gender equality in China, but would like to hear if you have any interesting sources to share. I know that western media used to really push hard on the “China censors feminist movements like metoo” point so I would also like to know of things relating to that. Thanks

I don’t know much about China in centuries before, but I recall in the most recent probably canceled podcast (https://probablycancelledpod.libsyn.com/mega-brothels-sex-trafficking-in-progressive-germany) near the end the host mentioned that in the prc the cpc under Mao greatly improved gender equality through the cultural revolution. Mao even claimed (not completely realistically) that they had reached gender equality. Since, it’s not been the best, but their recent poverty reduction has helped. There is also a part of the next 10 year plan to improve gender equality.
