Pulgasari is a North Korean fantasy-action film released in 1985. Directed by Shin Sang-ok, the film tells an epic tale of rebellion, courage, and mythical creatures set against the backdrop of feudal Korea.

The story revolves around a humble blacksmith named Ami who leads a group of oppressed peasants in a revolt against their tyrannical ruler. When the blacksmith is imprisoned, his daughter, a young girl named Sori, discovers a tiny monster made of rice named Pulgasari. Believing in its magical powers, Sori releases the creature and nurtures it until it grows into a gigantic iron-eating monster.
