…and he used quotes from the nazi Ilyin. Fucking. Shit. Each damn time he speaks somewhere he uses quotes from that fella. Plus, there were fucking nuclear war nazi supporters in the same room.

Read the intro part and it should be enough

A thing that is probably not mentioned: while he toned down his hitlerite support, he still wrote that Hitler was right in his actions against commies and jews AFTER the war in the late 40-s and early 50-s.

Uhhhh, where do I fucking begin…

            1. Both are right wingers?

            2. Both use pseudo-philosophical religious bullshit to justify their actions for the masses, literally using the same kind of rhetorics nazis always used?

            3. Both hate socialism (Ilyin treated Hitler as savior of Europe from damn commies) and bolshevizm specifically?

            4. There’s literallty NOT A SINGLE FUCKING RUSSIAN PHILOSOPHER of any scale who had the same convenient right wing rhetorics that modern bourgeoisie needs so much?

I bet I could come up with hell of a lot more, but I’m kinda short on time right now, so…

P.S. I should probanly mention that after WW2 Ilyin did “get disappointed” in Hitler but only because he went against Russian people. The rest of the bullshit nazis did was fine by him and he wrote something along the lines “We need our own leader like that” before and after WW2.

Yes, but fucked up for Russian president to worship philosopher who worshipped man who wanted to exterminate Russians and all Slavs and committed genocide. What the fuck, this is a new low for Putin.

He quoted Ilyin throughout all of his presidential terms on a regular basis. Here in Russia you have no illusions about who is who in all this, really.

          This.

Trying to keep the balance of respecting all parts of Russia’s past has been the leitmotif of his government’s internal propaganda for ages. Commies want to bite his head off every time he cites Ilyin and nationalists want to do that when he says he still likes some socialist ideas and kept his CPSU party card, praises Stalin or drops that “geopolitical catastrophe” line about USSR. It might be boring or whatever, but public face of this regime is just populism.

What’s so weird is he KNOWS full well that the so called human rights shit that the NED and CIA uses is a cynical work. He KNOWS KNOWS KNOWS that ZERO LGBTQIA people have been empowered by Apache helicopters killing brown people.

        🤦‍♂️

It feels like there is ZERO safety in the world if youre anti colonial and queer.

I refuse to believe that what Putin says is the genuine voice of Russia.

What is his excuse for his bigotry once the west is defeated and the gays arent a color revolution tool of the west anymore?

        Meh… He doesnt care.

Castro was homophobic and IN OUR LIFETIME, Cuba has advanced their revolution.

He doesn’t have to come up with one. This won’t happen in his lifetime.

And you pretty much arrived at your answer to that first part - why wouldn’t he do the easy thing and turn a narrative West weaponizes into an attribute of the enemies of Russia for internal propaganda? Especially when he has to deal with a multiconfessional country, largest religions being Orthodox Christianity and Islam?

Will you be thoroughly amazed if I say that stuff about LGBT that you mention is probably one of the very few things which do actually sound like something from our people?

Will you fall from your chair if I say (breathe in deeper right now) that even in “left” circles the only parties supporting the western rainbow agenda are a couple of marginal YouTube channels trying to earn karma points from the European trots, socdems and the other similar parties, while sabotaging the entire communist movement by shitty interviews and infantile actions?

Will you be shocked if I say, that it is okayish even for the less orthodox commies to be neutral or moderately cold towards the entire LGBT thing and that the actual communists around here are critical of it not just because of it being directly weaponized by the bourgeoisie against the entire left, but fundamentally?

If all those things are some kind of a revelation for you - well, guess I’m glad to be the one to enlighten you and the other western comrades here. You can expect more such revelations in the future. I wonder after how many of those I’ll get lawfully banhammered.

This entire comment is exactly like the situation in my country. Many communists are neutral at best and actively bigoted at worst, making it impossible for me to try organizing with any communists irl. Self-described leftists are a mixed bunch, some are supportive while others are neutral or bigoted. So basically the only support here is mostly from liberals :/

I get jaded about liberals and other bad actors trying to hide behind ‘social progressivism’ or whatever they want to call it. But homophobia is pretty dog poop and a lot more compatible with capitalism than communism imo.

It really shouldn’t be. I know for a fact comrades here know that USSR criminalized homosexuality. Why would they expect extreme change in 30 years of restauration of capitalism is beyond me.

I still think its not unreasonable to call out homophobia. Of course there are alot of extenuating circumstances and context, but regardless.

the proper response is not to tail the masses on oppressing LGBT but to educate the masses on the possibility for color revolution and advance LGBT rights to a state where they can no longer be used as an excuse for color revolution. it’s not difficult to surpass western countries on LGBT rights. of course this is too much to expect of a capitalist country like Russia

From what I read, Castro wasn’t as homophobic as people say. It was reactionary elements of the Cuban military who threw LGBT folk into garrisons, and as soon as Castro found out, he put a stop to it.

I agree, and Castro’s apology means alot. My point of contention was that I don’t think that Castro was directly involved with “throwing LGBT folk in prison”. I still think he deserves some blame but his apology was very good.
