I’ve heard people say Meloni’s a Pro-EU, Pro-NATO hawk, some rightwingers are convinced she’ll push through Italexit and start rapprochement with Russia and whatever else they dream about. What’s actually a reasonable expectation for this government’s behaviour, especially in regards to foreign policy?
Don’t expect anything to change in terms of foreign policy. NATO and the EU are too systemically entrenched in Europe. Expect even more brutality toward migrants, deregulation, corporate tax cuts, dismantling of social safety nets, etc. Fascism exists to serve capital and crush socialists.
She will not do the italexit and she publicly denounced Russia, she will just be like all our other governments but 10x worse
I’m not too familiar with Italy’s foreign policy other that than they have been an eager contributor to Frontex. Expect a lot more dead refugees in the Mediterranean and expect a lot more people who try to help those refugees get arrested and prosecuted.

That’s likely just a pro-EU slander. There’s been a concentrated push to associate EU scepticism with being pro-Russian and equating that with fascism.
