      This is one of the cool points in that book, “the democrats” by Lance Selfa. Part of the point of being an opposition party in a bourgeois “democracy”, is to never actually succeed at what you promise, because then you lose your entire reason for existing.

      Womens rights will always treated like a cat playing with dangling string.

        On top of that if a mildly radical party comes to power, the only objective of the opposition then becomes to oppose any progress.

    Chad Cuba actually voted on and passed marriage equality.

      The timing is pure irony. “Authoritarian” Cuba passes sweeping changes while the “Democratic” US continues to delay until the eventual watered-down bill that in essence changes absolutely nothing.
