Daily reminder that China has fewer people in poverty than the US despite having 4x the population.

That’s right, they’re not just better on poverty per capita, but straight up number of people in poverty!

      (But communism doesn’t work)

And where do they get the balanced nutrition from? And how is it then distributed around the country? And how does the government pay those supply chains? Sanctions cripple the economy completely making every step extremely difficult.

It’s like some people never feel obligated to learn about, or think through, anything they say.

Wow, this person is a fucking genius. If you don’t have the resources to feed your people then just stop being a country! That’ll solve it! Just go “yes hello we are not country anymore” and like by magic, food for everyone 🙂

prob like 95% of all nations rely on food imports lol. even those who are net exporters like the US utilize imports, and couldn’t even maintain their own food systems without importing migrant labor

Nah nah bro, if you choose to permit racism, homophobia, etc, on your platform, that in itself is a political stance, and that stance is almost always fascism. Allowing or disallowing hate is intrinsically political, there’s no way around it. If you say anything about free speech, supportive, critical, or otherwise, that’s political.

They should seize privatized food distributors in order to meet food sufficiency. If the private institutions fails to meet its function according to expectation they shouldn’t exist and should be absorbed by the collective body.

“A country has no excuse to not feed itself!”

Country seizes private assets from the 1% to feed the 99%

I’m not exactly sure because I don’t have the patience to read the whole thing but the study from which numbers are from seem to only take into account cereals and starchy roots because it was an Africa-centric study. I don’t know if they included rice or not because it is a very important staple.
