So I love seeing stickers in the streets. From football clubs, to random shit to political stickers etc. Living in a big city is like living in a sticker paradise. They are everywhere.
While it seems like a small thing, I believe stickers can have an impact on spreading political ideologies. That’s why I wanted to create a community just for people spreading or finding leftist stickers. Feel free to post your findings, comrades.
This is my collection. It’s all in Dutch, as that’s the language I speak of course.
What does that WC sticker say? Something about gender-neutral toilets?
(also what’s up with “stap in loser”)
It says ‘Gewoon een WC’ which means Just a toilet, and it’s indeed about gender neutral toilets.
The Stap in loser says: Stap in loser, we gaan de productiemiddelen collectiviseren (Get in loser, we’re seizing the means of production) which is a reference to a scene from the 2004 movie Mean Girls:
The other ones say Anti-Jan-Pieter Aktion (Jan-Pieter is a standard posh name for rich people here);
Ja ik ben VVD Veroordeeld Voor Discriminatie with a picture of prime-minister Mark Rutte (VVD is his party’s name, and he got Veroordeeld Voor Discriminatie which means convicted for discrimination);
Linkiewinkie (literally translated Leftiewinkie) says: raise your red flag;
The cat one says: There used to be a racist sticker here but not anymore;
The Joker one is again a picture of Mark Rutte with the bottomtext We live in a society;
The one with the girl says Always Antifascist
