This document exists to lay out some general principles of running a small social network site that have worked for me. These principles are related to community building more than they are related to specific technologies.

I just found this article and thought it was rather neat. I haven’t carefully read it all through, though.

    The article is really long but I did some parts of it. I really like how the author explained the advantages of creating our own network and why we should limit the number of users on an instance.

    Bookmarked it for now. Going to read more of it, later.
