If I got all British and said “jog on” instead of “fuck off” it would have exactly the same meaning in every context, but they probably wouldn’t act on that because it’s not a swearsie.

This is why I struggle so hard with tone policing. Like fuck off my tone is way worse down the pub that it is in anything I write online. They don’t have clue.

@Echedenyan@lemmy.ml was the one that directly PMd me with a warning that I would be banned if I didn’t edit out a “fuck off” that was in one of my comments.
I didn’t say their name the other day because putting them on blast didn’t seem constructive but citing being anti-lib as part of a reason for a ban in a modlog has rubbed me the wrong way. Having an admin that has a bee in their bonnet over anyone that complains about liberals is not ok for a “leftist” instance. Liberals are not left.
If anyone called someone a Trumpite for saying something objectively conservative they would have no problem with it, they have a problem with anyone calling other people liberals because they are defending liberals in this way because they are a liberal. They would not do this for conservatives.
