This statement alone should be grounds for someone being locked away forever, where they can do no harm. Not to reward them with power.
Fortunately Britain’s nuclear ‘deterrent’ is not entirely under the control of our politicians. Unfortunately, the ones who could interfere are… the US.

They got seriously more evil than even their cartoonish villains. To paraphrase:

Never been to the UK, but every Brit I’ve met was just down to earth and cool as, albeit politically pretty uninterested. Unfortunately everything coming out of that island news-wise is just fucking unhinged. US politicians, at least the Dems, still try to keep up the whole democracy, decency, etc schtick, while UK politicians just get to openly boast about kicking off nuclear annihilation to a round of applaus. Total nutcases
And the people, the voters, the “common folk” - do they look at this and go “yeah this is fine, this is an appropriate price to pay for stopping ebil putler and his orcs”?
