I got into a r*ddit level argument with some Hoxhaist who was convinced that we are just revisionists and blah blah blah.

Anyway, he got banned, idk for how long, but I went looking for some info on Hoxha and his project in Albania. I found this video, which was pretty interesting and very level-headed. It focuses on the strengths and weaknesses of the Hoxha project.

You should also support this channel, since it only has abt 1.5k subs and they have some pretty good content. They have a pretty good video on Stalin, breaking down all the boogeyman bs peddled by nazis and msm.

Even if he was annoying, here’s to our hoxhaist comrade o7 May he find some nuance.

I’m just done with anyone who blanket-demonizes any country struggling to acheive socialism. Anyone who wants to shit on China, the DPRK, VZ, etc and thinks they could do it better, can go to reddit with all the other state department ultralefts.

Yeah, I was getting an aneurysm trying to talk to them lol. Like, all this high horse bs, and ignorant. It reminded me of talking to a lib. To me, they’re ideological puritans/idealists, not actually interested in practice, but in essence. I think there’s something to respect about trying to keep a strict Marxist theory, but it should not be done at the cost of practice or ignoring material conditions.

Yes, that’s fair, but my problem isn’t smart criticism. It’s outright dismissal of an entire socialist nation.

It’s great that Hoxha didn’t have to be “revisionist,” but, at least the video points out that Hoxha’s Albania was generally dependent on “revisionist” forces, aka post-Stalin USSR, similar to Yugoslavia(how is war communism not revisionist? genuinely curious)

So I’m not entirely sure their point of criticism fits with any economy, socialist or not, that has ever existed.

          Edit: I fixed my comment.

              Fair enough.

What does a generally non-revisionist economy or nation look like in your eyes. Are the DPRK and Cuba examples? I’m asking in good faith.

    I hate Hoxhaists.

They should be just as hated as Maoists, imho.

Found out espressostalinist is a Hoxhaist, shit ruined my day lol. Found out after they had a really condemnatory article of the DPRK utilizing imperialist sources, so not that surprising I guess.

At least there are ostensible Maoist revolts going on. Self-identifying as a Hoxhaist is as eclectic as identifying as a De Leonist or a Luxembourgist… seemingly mostly just politics-games for westerners.

Yeah, the De Leonist or Luxembourgist thing I never got.

Haha, yep! I don’t hate hoxha or Albania, but I mean, hoxhaists tend to have a very peculiar way of being that is just kind of insufferably arrogant.
