I deleted my last remaining Reddit account in June this year. Still not feeling an itch to return, and if Reddit is already going the way of Digg and MySpace (a fate long overdue) then my departure could not have coincided at a better time.

I doubt that Lemmy will ever replace Reddit in terms of popularity. But I’d be unsurprised if more people—at least within a particular demographic—are spending less time on social media in general, which sounds like it would be for the best, honestly.

For your software needs, I recommend checking out Archive.org if you haven’t already. It’s how I replaced my dysfunctional copy of Fallout 2, acquired the now rare Heretic II, and got to try out Grand Theft Auto III: Reverse Engineered and Vice City: Reverse Engineered after Take-Two tried to erase them both from all of existence.

Yeah reddit suck now, all remaining commie places are either almost dead or overrun by libs and ultras.

There is still /r/crackwatch there. Good thing they can never take down cs.rin.
