It’s a teenage communists worst nightmare. Here are my classes

AP US History Prep Journaling 201-202 Accounting I Chemistry I (want to change to biology 2)

AP US History Algebra 2 Journaling (Idk what’s to be filled in here, hopefully different) Honors English 3 (Very liberal “independent/moderate” teacher.)

My classes are full of liberals. I cannot stand it, literally. They’re deep in capitalism too. One of the assistant principals came in to talk to us about stocks… I mean, he just randomly bust in there. My journaling teacher thinks the political spectrum is only “conservative and liberal.” He’s on the right side of conservative. And you know US History has bullshit. The English 3 teacher is mostly red but he claims to be independent. He loves to talk about his liberal beliefs. He’s like “Why can’t they elect a good president for once!!! The only one I thought was good was McCain!!” Oh… It’s just a mess…

I thought about it later on in the day… Why am I taking these hard classes if I’m not staying in college? I’m gonna get a trade job, no matter how hard the work is. Anything but somewhere hurting my brain. I can ignore the liberal bullshit but man it’s the people… And we have to have discussions, oh god… Besides, I’m not going to a top college, so no need to be taking all these hard classes and doing all this work. I’m only staying for maybe two years. I just don’t know at the moment honestly… I don’t wanna go to college, but I wanna use it as a way to be free, but if I leave mid-term I wanna be able to leave without any liabilities.

They literally don’t even know what they be talking about. I’m in a school where there are trump supporters everywhere, it’s just… ugh… Barf. The south sucks.

I have dual Enrollment government. In my last class the teacher was spouting nonsense about socialism and Marxism and no one but me batted an eye. He also sourced the black book of communism, it took a lot of restraint to not go off TT

Today the teacher asked what countries are in a “uniform” society and barely have free speech. They all said “North Korea.” I was so close… so close!! But I had to take a deep breath. They also talked about how fucked up America’s economy is, and in a condescending manner, they’re like “Most of our stuff is made in China!! >:((” And they all checked what they had on them and said “yep, made in china!” as if it’s a bad fucking thing. Yet they shop off of SHEIN. The hypocrisy.

I wish :'( I’m stuck in that annoying school for at least one more year thankfully. Had COVID stuck around longer, I would’ve gotten the best break of my life. Too bad it was short. Being in a red state, they starting going back to “normal” earlier than other states. They even resumed in person schooling despite high covid cases. No one ever wears a mask despite monkeypox outbreak, and while people were getting covid and quarantining, people still weren’t wearing masks.

Be reassured that it is not “their” opinion, there isn’t anything wrong with your teachers and classmates individually. Just because you have honed your understanding of the system of cruelties and absurdities inherent to capitalism to a degree that you can spot them on sight, doesn’t mean it’s obvious. This shit is the default belief system to have in a society whose whole press and educational system is owned by the neoliberal faction of a bourgeois ruling class, just as medieval Europeans would actually believe in demons and witches

What can we do about this? As someone who has to endure this for two more years is draining. Man it sucks gathering intelligence at a young age. I had to deal with this brainrot since I was eleven…

Do not put forward your knowledge too aggressively, and despite everything, try not to lose face. Take a look at the student who always knows the right answer in maths class and gets derided for being a nerd. In the system, social conformity is an asset while knowledge is a liability, so you have to gain popularity first, and even then, don’t give answers outright but ask suggestive questions. Make one friend you can trust, ideally one who shares some at least socdem beliefs. Spend some alone time with him and let him in. This is the most important step as it will help you keep your sanity. Then try to accrete a widening social circle outside of that friend, but do not depend on them. They will eventually support you in class once you feel comfortable grilling your teachers.

Of course, that is if you actually feel like organising at school. No one will blame you if you don’t. Just make the most out of your remaining time not having to work through the apocalypse.
