Temple was incredibly based for an Angelican Priest, he was educated in college on neo-hegelianism, was a lefty his whole life, advocated for workers, and fixing the broken education system, and called out pacifists for not wanting to destroy Hitler. Plus he pissed of Churchill by being so smart and well respected and also a out and out socialist.
