      Nah, the citizens of Berlin are really called Berliner. Same name as the Jelly Donut tho, because its origin is thought to be from Berlin.

      Citizinery in german is always called the cities name + -er. Someone from Washington would be called a Washingtoner, someone from Beijing would be called Beijinger (or Pekinger, the old localization of the name is still in use here too).

        It’s the same as people from Hamburg being called Hamburgers. If you say it in the right context there is no confusion really.
