    While that example clearly shows some lazy thinking on part of the upstream developers, this isn’t really anything new and lazy Ubuntu only software long predates Docker.

    IMHO Docker (and similar reproducible environment systems) improved the situation as it clearly documents the problem and can help fixing it (as shown in the article). Before it was usually: “not using Ubuntu? well good luck figuring out how to run this”.

    I’m confused by something - Many of the BSD fans are passionate about writing the source code to their problems and sharing it, yet to my knowledge only FreeBSD supports Docker. If this guy had Docker, wouldn’t it solve his problems? Or does the BSD community generally dislike Docker since it’s basically running Linux?
