They Literally just steal videos from Chinese tiktok and put text(often in mandarin) over it and post it to make it look authentic.

Also 550 is their favourite number because they refer to it a lot when making Social Credit videos.

Can someone explain to me how social credit is any different than my credit score?

My credit score decides what purchases I can make or what loans I receive. It is also is determined by my standards of living and the property I have. It sounds like it is the same thing, and I can’t understand how Americans are this dumb.

The difference is that social credit is localized to specific provinces or cities that opt into the program. And it’s mostly only utilized for businesses (to ensure they’re compliant with the law by actually providing the services advertised to consumers). The owners/executives are the ones whose lives are nominally affected by the score. That’s not to say that can’t expand the system to other areas that weren’t intended for it (see SSN in the US), but so far it’s not some 1984 shit. I’ve met some international Chinese liberals while in college, and sometimes American students would ask them about credit scores and they would have no idea what the hell you’re talking about lol

The cartoonish social credit dystopia fabrication has gotten so outlandish that western, liberal media outlets have had to write articles debunking the claims because the things they said had no basis in reality like any good lie

Oh so because your credit score is bad you cant buy groceries? I think from that fact alone, you should be able to deduce what the difference is. I cant believe kids are this dumb.

My bad, use SELF SERVICE to buy groceries, or charge your electronic car if you have one, or use Uber or most online services. In US they just wont let you get a cash loan or a credit card. That is absolutely different.

In the US, a bad credit report can decide; if you can receive a loan, or if you can get a house, or a rental unit, or a car, or the cost of insurance, or even employment opportunities, or if you can even use a credit card (the number one way to make larger or purchase items with recurring payments.) Your bad credit can even be decided by student loans your parents took out for your education BEFORE you were an adult.

I would say having bad credit can hinder your life in America. Regardless of what we perceive Chinas system to be.
