I see ADHD meds constantly being prescribed to people that fit ADHD symptoms; but neurotransmitter levels usually aren’t checked prior, which could cause some issues in development. Capitalism is a parasite that values profit over people, so it is unsurprising to find that some people fit ADHD symptoms because the brutality of capitalism exhausted them.
Artificially inserting neurotransmitters into children can affect their development; health issues could appear as a result.
A cuddly fourm for those struggling with mental health issues associated with the sharp rise of contradictions within the capitalist system. If you are currently contemplating suicide then please contact:

I watched the Take Your Pills documentary on Netflix which was all about this and how Adderall is getting dished out to children at an alarming rate. I hadn’t realised that it’s essentially meth. They are dishing out meth to kids so they sit up straight at school. The damage done to these kids livers is going to be catastrophic aswell as long term mental health issues.
One of the worst parts of the documentary was showing the advertising to promote the drug aimed at parents promising they’ll get their kids to behave and perform better at school. It is just sick.
Interestingly enough, this is exactly what happened in XIX century to opiates, especially in USA. Morphine, opium and heroin were prescribed left and right, even to small babies for things like toothing pains. Or soldiers in the civil war being given opium pills in the millions.
I’m going to be pissed if ADHD meds were the cause of my health issues.
I really wish I wasn’t born here! I hope socialist countries don’t allow this shit!
Yet the bourgeoisie bans meth because “drugs are bad.” Hypocrisy at it’s finest.
I’m just gonna start recommending parents to not take these drugs. (It doesn’t really matter if the child graduates; they’ll get ruthlessly exploited anyway.)
My kid actually needs them though, it’s night and day difference. I do agree though we need way more testing and a lot less prescribing.
I have never had my “neurotransmitter levels” checked before I was prescribed any psychotropic drug, that’s how psychiatrists are. This is the issue with psychiatry and believing mental disorders are “the same” as other organic disorders.
As an adult, I should get a say in what mind altering substances I ingest. Yet I can’t ask for certain medications unless I want to be accused of drug seeking behaviour. But they no problem giving me benzos for anxiety, it’s just bizarre.
Same with antidepressants. As a society we decided that we would rather prescribe medication than solve our social problems.
This issue is literally such a large topic with so many aspects to discuss I don’t think I can comfortably get into here and still go to work later.
Oh no… it’s even worse?
Nazi scientists… Link - the story they give is fiction. The swiss based concentration camp testing pharmaceutical firms give these pleasant back stories to all their “swiss” pills.
psychiatry is very sus
It’s psychology but worse.
Literally focused on “how to acclimate the dumb lab rats to our perfect system of wealth extraction.”
I’m on the autism spectrum and have noticed I exhibit a few symptoms that are very similar to ADHD symptoms. I’m absolutely terrified of talking to my doctor/psychiatrist/therapist about these for fear that they’ll see those few symptoms and slap me with a diagnosis and I’ll look irrational for not wanting to be put on meds. I’ve seen ADHD meds prescribed to schoolchildren for less. It’s really depressing that it’s seen as something that needs to be “fixed” and “cured” rather than accommodations be made for us but such is the neurodivergent life I guess.
Well I am the living stereotype of ADHD and I think it’s a combination of kids self diagnosing on TikTok and then their doctors getting bank off of them. All the meds I’ve tried don’t seem to have an effect on me.
Why take speed when you are speed!
I also have ADHD and don’t take any meds.
Some people do grow out of it. Some people figure out a mechanism how to stay focused.
I bet you can find a lot of research about it that’s been done already about this. https://metager.org/meta/meta.ger3?eingabe=adhd+over-prescribed
