Any corrections are usually just turned into a meme. Example: Chinese person says no the police don’t force us to do everything at gunpoint we like helping others. Redditor replies “Great job +7252&.63 SoCiAl cReDit” or “5 dime agent” Russian person says no Putin is not the most war hungry leader in all of history, Redditor replies “Russabot” or a series of slurs followed by “slava ukraini”. I hate the state of the internet especially Reddit
Recent Cathedral to the Armed Forces constructed in Russia. not commenting on the dedication (as in who the cathedral is dedicated to) but no country in the west has the socio-economic or political will to engage in public works like this anymore.
That is the one in Volgograd, isn’t it? I’ve visited it last autumn. Not a bad place overall, although I found many of the murals to be quite questionable. Not to mention slapping this gigantic church in the place where some of the fiercest fighting for Stalingrad took place.
Yeah, that’s why I didn’t comment on the dedication, the inside photos I have seen were pretty bellicose. But to be fair Russia is trying to rediscover or reclaim a national identity and Stalingrad is a good place to start, no? Especially given the fact that they are likely to spend the next decades at odds with a part of the world they culturally identify with quite strongly (europe). I am not a subject matter expert on this, and I agree with your general sentiment.
When the project was announced, Russia’s defense minister promised the steps would be poured from “German trophy hardware” — rumored to be a reference to melted-down Nazi tanks.
When I think of corn, I think of the country where it’s in everything, where their economy leans on it so much that they create cultural hallmarks around its flake form and popped form, and shove its syrup form into absolutely fucking everything to the point that its citizens are literally weighed down by the obesity born of all the empty calories… and they still manage to produce such a surplus that their colonies and neo-colonies are saturated in the stuff as well.
And to top it all off, there’s more corn produced in the world than there is rice, but the endemically racist country I’m describing has propogated the stereotype of Asians being rice eaters while they are ‘steak’ eaters, because steak is a good masculine manly food. It’s fucking bullshit. It’s a corn nation.
Its because of Cornshev and his obcession into introducting corn on the USSR, he wanted that because its cheap and easy to plant and it can also be used to feed cattle.
History memes takes on anything Russia generally sounds as if taken directly from Goebbels himself.
Yeah, it literally doesn’t matter to them if it’s Russia today or USSR…
Holy shit that putin is cursed
Putin with Gorbachev characteristics
Putin + gorby + cornshev + Stalin + Lenin
I was so fixated in the on head marks I ignored the rest
Loving the double caption.
Thats an certified socialist beer moment.
r/historymemes is misinformation central when it comes to Russia and China. Aren’t people who call this shit out mass downvoted whenever they appear?

Meme warfare is a real thing and it’s never been more clear than with the social credit score spam.

*Stalingrad
It was Stalingrad then, it is Volgograd now. Can you imagine a huge cathedral being built in Stalingrad? Sorry, comrade, but that is the reality now.
Isnt that cathedral made of nazi tanks? I heard they melted down nazi weapons and build a cathedral. That is pretty 40k based.

The basedest church to ever exist.
Corn? Why corn?

Definitely isn’t Russia.
