Countries have a 14% chance of keeping global warming below 1.5C even in the most optimistic scenario where all net-zero pledges are met, according to an analysis by the UN’s environment program. Current emissions-cutting plans put the world on course for up-to 2.9C of global warming and that’s assuming nations fulfill their unconditional commitments.

there’s a chance if we try extra extra hard and fulfill a fictitious plan which is 2x stricter than the plan we have now (which we already don’t even attempt to fulfill)
it’s like saying you have a chance of getting a C instead of a D on the test when it’s 10 minutes before class and you haven’t even started cramming yet
It’s never going to happen under capitalism. Either we get rid of it or we go extinct. We have to use this information to radicalize other people, a lot of environmentalists are still libs.
