I know, I know, it’s an article by a lib published in a lib magazine but it’s definitely worth a read. The online reactions to the trial are definitely indicative of a cultural backlash to the metoo movement and the effect of the verdict will be victims being more hesitant to come forward.

The most poignant headline I’ve seen related to this shit.

Also just wanted to mention that I’m so bloody sick of seeing Depp’s stupid ass quirky faces he’s been making during the trial, laughing, covering his mouth and raising his eyebrows in that cute little wink-at-the-audience, “I’m gonna get away with everything I’ve ever done” way. The clown does redface on screen and IRL, but the zeitgeist will utterly shift in favor of his (and celebrities like him) softboi hide-the-misogyny, quirky ass aesthetic because it has a wonderful pseudo-progressive sheen one can easily hide their fascistic demons under.

All this after the liberal “entertainment media” painted Will Smith (and in many cases all black men by extension) as a violent savage for slapping Chris Rock. Celebrity culture is a cancer on progress.

This shit court room drama popped up in my feed everyday. lgnored it every time. But now I have to say it, this verdict gave not just Depp the permission to burry domestic abuses, but to all those gleefully accepted this verdict. They two are manipulative pieces of shits but Depp is more powerful and famous. He effectively utilized it. And this steam gonna used for a movie and documentary which will give him big bucks.
