In the video, the “leather” was treated with a small amount of beeswax, so the specific way they made it is not vegan, but synthetic wax is a thing, as is plant based wax, so there’s no reason to me why that can’t be used to make actual vegan leather. If produced industrially, it would probably be cheaper to use non-animal wax anyway.
