Gotta love an infographic with no sources.
Whoever put it together is also clearly stretching the truth, though I’m not sure what the point of doing so is. The idea that most of the Western Hemisphere allows all pornography ‘without restrictions’ is news to broadcasters who must censor naked people on TV.

What does banning porn mean? Banning consumption or production or both?
Production, ie porn production falls under the same laws as say a sex trafficking ring.
Honest question but what if you made a sextape with your partner and decided to share it with the world?
<center style=“font-size: 6px”>and what about… drawn pornography

Japan – some restrictions, but definitely not the important ones
I’m uh…not too sure what you’re getting at with this one.

I don’t know if this is what you meant but I’d argue 4 things:
1 - It’s a similar discussion about prostitution under capitalism, but a bit easier: Women (and also men) suffer a lot in this industry. It’s not uncommon to see pornstars with their mental health in shambles, using hard drugs and with several disorders like PTSD. To put ir quite simply: They are being raped for other people pleasures
2 - Many reasearches are pointing out that porn addiction may be a thing
3 - Women objetification. And many people watching these vids are young and have 0 idea what sex is, so they grow up thinking what they have seen in the videos is normal (Its is not, these videos are extremelly violent)
4 - Fetishization? Idk what to call this one, it’s something I don’t see many people talking about, so maybe it’s nothing (?) but basically there is this weird trend that for example, the most racists states in america are the ones where “ebony” porn are consumed the most. But this holds true in a global scale. Brazil for example is deeply transphobic but porn featuring trans people is consumed a lot. So there is this weird trend where the oppressors are watching porn videos about a certain group they oppress, and given the violent nature of porn videos itself I’d argue that the societal domination of the oppressor group to the oppressed one is “validated” when the lil wanker is jacking off to a video about dominating sexually a individual of the oppressed group. Pretty creepy but I honestly don’t know what to expect from westerners anymore. Its very common for men to watch lesbian porn for example.

well it can be good for women is one way of looking at it. I’d like to know what is actually meant by ban exactly.
