Honestly this makes my blood boil. I own a lot to Assange and Snowden. I’m only an ML today because of what they did. Back then I wasn’t even that much into left wing but no one cared about the revelations they made, no one seemed to care about imperialism. Except me, and I didn’t even had a name for it back then.

Eventually I found out there is one group of people who do care about it, and now here am I. I hope Assange can somehow evade this extradition

Completely agree, these guys risked their lives to let us know what was going on in the world. To unravel what those in power had been doing in secret. Nobody in US can say Assange or Snowden had put any American person’s lives in danger by releasing those information, so the excuse of “security” being bogus should be clearly visible to everyone.

They only revealed something that powerful people didn’t want people to know about them, and now they want to punish them and make an example of them. These libs who pretend America is the representative of freedom in the world should learn a thing or two from Assange and Snowden.

He can still appeal to the EU court of Human Rights though, which the UK is still a part of. While that court has in the past allowed imperialist action that clearly violated human rights (it allowed West Germany to ban the Communist Party and imprison its members in the 1950s and also allowed the UK to use “enhanced interrogation methods” aka torture and indefinite imprisonment against IRA suspects in the 1970s), it has still pulled a few Ls to the US lately. I think there is still hope. Hopefully.

It’s sad to see how his fate is sealed like that.
