I read that in 2002 Americans nagged how The frequent complaints about United States policy seldom mention that Washington provided more humanitarian aid than any other country to the people of Afghanistan. Is this accurate?

Aid doesn’t count when you send it with an invasion force.

Furthermore, USAID is a cutout for the CIA to fund bribes, insert assets and set up in-country operations. Same as the NED.

Foreign aid in general tends to hurt the countries that it is sent to in the long run. This is not because helping is bad. It is due to how aid is given. When it is given as food stocks it puts local farmers out of work, lowering the productivity of the nation in the long run. When you send tractors and tools to impoverished peoples along with training, it allows them to build their productive forces in the long run so they can develop out of poverty.

If you want a better and more thorough explanation, read the works of Thomas Sankara, the leader of socialist Burkina Faso(eng. Burkina People Stand Up—coolest country name).

It’s irrelevant. If I were to shoot a person in both knees, then give them 50 bucks, it would not absolve me of this crime, let alone all crimes.

Yep. The US kneecaps someone, gives them a band-aid, and calls it “aid”.

The aid was sent due to the damage we were creating during the invasion. It was part of the “Hearts and Minds” military doctrine and can be seen as a tool of war. I am of the opinion that it does not qualify as aid. It is material supplies used as a weapon and a tool of war. Even more so than foreign aid is usually used to further imperialism.

Where can I read more about how “Hearts and Minds” doctrine was used?

I’m honestly not sure. I’d guess there’s a ton of books written by the neo-cons in Bush’s White House. I don’t know any ML works written about it. You could go straight to the source and read the Afghanistan Papers.
