Instead build bridges, railroads to improve infrastructure or health care for their people.

It’s sad but still better then the money going towards Raytheon/Lockheed Martine/Northrop Grumman, therefore, I critically support this hamfisted endeavor of “reminding” Americans that they are FREE and can consume as much grease at McDonalds as their hearts and wallets can handle.

Well 25 years back than i was also not thrilled being chinese. But seeing how our nation developed over the years. Gives me hope and pride.

I hope one day americans see their wrong doing and get rid off all the warmongers. And build a better future together.

I can testify as an American living in core the that the situation is precisely the opposite here. The city I live near is filled with dilapidated buildings from the 1920s-1950s and used to have a trolley a system which is now completely defunct, all thanks to corruption. Politicians cope with all the discontent and hate by redirecting and channeling it all towards China and it’s very effective sadly. Yesterday I saw an ad for a local politician where all he says is “China, China is the enemy” and that was literally it. I just hope people in China fully aware of just how batshit people over here gotten.

So… Remember when the West laughed at the DPRK for building a giant flagpole? In response to a similarly giant one the South built not long before, no less? (And of course the South one was necessary and money well spent.)

US proving yet again that they have an fetish for building comically large things so it can compensate for something.

Very likely so, but they’re getting press coverage so who knows. It’ll probably end in a lawsuit and a bunch of missing money but it would almost be funnier if it actually got built.

What an effective use of your resources, especially during the healthcare crisis we’re experiencing right now.

No way this thing is going to actually be able to stand up, it would effectively be a village-sized mikado stick. The pipe-dream sector of the US economy is growing out of proportion
