Posting in response to interest shown in this thread. I will fill out structure here later today, but let us use this post as a provisional place to plan a study group.

Questions to consider:

  • Location in theory. Where to start? A particular author or work?
  • Method of discussion. How frequently should discussion threads be posted? By work or chapter?
  • Other choices. Should we attempt to make discussions and reading choices relevant to current events? Should discussions have leaders? etc…

    Could be fun.

I would say definitely start with something small because a lot of study groups (at least at the beginning) fall apart due to being too bold with the text and subject matter.

Sounds great. Adding on what Makan rightfully said and considering the sub title Stalins “Dialectical and Historical Materialism” could be a good entry point. It’s really short but comprehensive and should be essential reading for every ML.

    I’m interested in this.

The study group should start with simple texts like Makan said. And the study plan carpe_modo proposes looks promising.

I believe that a chat group would be useful to help with organization and accountability but I don’t know which platform should be chosen.

Having discussion leaders is definitely better, the issue is finding a comrade who can do it.

Could there be set goals? like, everyone can follow along reading right beside everyone else?
