    Tencent has a small minority share in Reddit, so they have very little power over it. This is publicly available information that Redditors conveniently ignore.

    slightly related; I’ve been doing research on 3D-printed firearms lately for the project I’m working on, and reading the comments on videos was… hilarious. In the worst way, that is.

    There were a shittone of comments on those videos talking about Hong Kong… videos that have nothing to do with HK, but right-wingers can’t help but interject “herder plastic pew good for liberating hong kong” every five minutes.

      Every time. The recent one I ran into was showing someone that no, China didn’t ban winnie the pooh, you can go on a winnie the pooh-themed ride in disney Shanghai. The video has a ton of downvotes, and I was expecting to see a bunch of heinous comments but youtube kids has comments disabled by default.
